For the upcoming year, Samhwa Paints’ Color Design Center suggests “La La in Limbo Land” as the theme for colors. With climate change, inflation, and wars making things ever more uncertain these days, technological advancements and hyper-individualism continue to transform our way of life into an increasingly unrecognizable, unprecedented form.
Today’s world warrants neither pessimism nor optimism. Being unable to decide in which direction our future is headed is all the more reason for us to tend to health and happiness, to seek to understand and care for one another.
“Limbo” means being on the fence about how the current situation might develop—deteriorating or improving.
The Color Design Center uses the concept as a reason to be all the more positive about the present, a reason to shed every unmaterialized worry and anxiety about the future.
The five colors we suggest for this theme are Habana Passion (SH 2140E), Navy Blue (SH 2085F), Smoothie Green (SH 2125C), Candy Mix (SH 2145A), and Brown Sugar (SH 2051C).
Habana Passion, a color of happiness, growth, and positive energy, captures our desire to seek joy and happiness here and now even as we remain on guard about what might happen in the coming months or years. Navy Blue is a color that represents the coexistence of realism and idealism. Smoothie Green, representing creativity, possibility, and sustainability, reminds us of the need for flexibility about the diversity of circumstances surrounding individuals. Candy Mix and Brown Sugar are colors that calm and reassure us by reminding us of what remains unchanging in these uncertain times.
