CSR

A company that grows with society

The first of the visions established when Samhwa Paints
was founded in 1946 was that it would be "a company that serves society."
Throughout the decades, Samhwa has engaged in a variety of activities
to fulfill its roles and responsibilities as a corporate member of society.

Invisible to Visible

Samhwa strives to improve learning environments for children with visual impairments

The company provides color designs and actual works, based on its inclusive color design schemes, to special schools nationwide that serve children with visual impairments. Inclusive color designs cater to people of all ages and levels of physical ability so they can use items, buildings, and services safely and conveniently. Under the principle of fairness, Samhwa’s range of color designs are for people with and without visual impairments.

Recognizing the significant disadvantage that children with visual impairments face when seeking to access information and knowledge, and aspiring toward providing them with opportunities to dream big, Samhwa develops and distributes special books to special schools and public libraries nationwide as well.

Samhwa employees and executives participate in the making of some of these books around the company’s anniversary each year.

Spaces for culture and the arts

Samhwa provides colorful spaces for cultural enrichment of the general public.

In collaboration with the Korea Ceramics Foundation, Samhwa Paints provides color designs and plans, as well as paints, to the Korean International Ceramic Biennales and its permanent exhibitions.

Making spaces inclusive

Samhwa’s inclusive color designs help with the redesign of spaces, making them more accessible and enjoyable to people with disabilities.

Samhwa provides color plans and eco-friendly paints for spaces to minimize the inconvenience of disability and help people with disabilities enjoy fuller and more active lives.

Samhwa Paints provides eco-friendly paints, including its Ayisaenggak collection, to make indoor spaces healthier for all.

The company began participating in the Ministry of Environment’s program for reducing environment-related diseases for vulnerable groups in 2013, helping to identify hazards in living environments for the most vulnerable and helping to improve their indoor environments.

“Energy Save” Campaign

Samhwa develops climate-conscious products and shares them with the most vulnerable groups to help them better adapt to the changing climate

Cool Roof Campaign
In collaboration with the Korea Climate & Environment Network, Samhwa has been helping energy-disadvantaged groups and households, including households in Hocheon Village in Busan, communities around Gimpo Airport affected by airport noise, and families vulnerable to heat waves, providing them with heat-reflecting paints and support.

Promoting local culture

amhwa entered into a mutual networking partnership with the Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art in Ansan, where its production facilities are located, in 2015 to ensure continued support for the development of local arts and colors.

The company works with the museum to provide color consulting, develop and provide art education programs, and plan and provide color-themed content for local audiences.

As a leading company in Gongju, the historical capital city of the Baekje Kingdom, Samhwa is also committed to preserving the local Baekje heritage

In 2017, the company signed a corporate sponsorship agreement for the World Baekje Heritage, providing paints, environmental cleaning support, and PR support to help preserve historical Baekje sites and relics.
