PAINT X PEOPLE, a special collaboration program marking Samhwa Paints’ 74th anniversary, attempted a new project involving a canvas and paints from the company’s iLux series.

The theme of the new artwork is a Samhwa paint can. The result shows the various phenomena that occur as a can of paint is poured.
The pure color of the main paint gushes out of the paint can, accompanied by the ripples of various other colors and effects. The colors go on to form plants, a flower, a hummingbird, letters, fireworks and bubbles, creating a lively and dynamic piece of art in the middle of the living room.
iLux Multi Flat paints were the natural choices for this project as they offer the non-sticky finish that is critical to painting on canvas. The matte-finish paints also dry quickly, making them perfect for interior walls and wallpaper.
There are nine colors used: Sky Delight, Lavender Glow, Alpine Landscape, Blue Opal, Sun Shower, Lemon Soda, London Fog, Lilac Rose, and Green Highlight.
Another piece of instant pop art comes alive when Samhwa paints are used to paint ribbons on canvas.
The artist used a paint roller, the most basic of painting tools, to create fun and abstract shapes. The overlap of red and blue surfaces created under the roller brings rhythm and vivacity to what had been a forgotten corner of the wall.
