Samhwa’s heat-insulating paints help fend off heat, humidity, and energy waste all at once

Samhwa Paints’ energy-saving, heat-insulating paints are emerging as new leaders in the summer paint market.
Climate change and the soaring costs of energy are naturally increasing consumer interest in heat-insulating products. Samhwa’s insulating paints reflect sunlight to keep temperature rises on painted surfaces in check, lowering cooling costs by preventing heat from penetrating inside.
Samhwa offers two collections of insulating paints: Cool & Save for buildings, and By Road Cool, for floors and roads.
Cool & Save paints are specially formulated to block heat. When applied to rooftops and building exterior walls, they can reduce the surface temperature of buildings, which can reach 50 to 60°C in the middle of summer, by up to 40 percent.
Cool & Save Aqua Waterproof Paints, in particular, are eco-friendly water-based waterproof paints that minimize damage due to heat and monsoon. Cool & Save has been certified by the Cool Roof Rating Council in the United States for its energy-saving effects.
By Road Cool provides methyl methacrylate (MMA) paints specifically formulated to reflect infrared rays. These paints can reflect up to 28 percent more infrared rays than other MMA paints (33.7 percent), helping to keep asphalt and concrete road surfaces up to 18.8°C cooler.
By Road Cool provides superior anti-slip and durable performance in addition to its ability to block heat. When applied to parking lots, school zones, bus stops, bicycle paths, vehicle roads, and parks, these paints can help keep the public cool while also minimizing the cost of maintenance.
A Samhwa spokesperson commented: “As a lot of rain is expected this summer as well, we need to prevent all foreseeable forms of related damage and accidents. It is necessary to use effective paints to protect consumers’ safety and health while minimizing energy costs.”
